The Stylist LA is a designer clothing rental company. Women can rent pieces for a fraction of the retail price in person in our showrooms in LA & SF and online where we ship nationwide.

The Stylist LA has quickly built a loyal following of fashionable women who now look phenomenal at every event they attend!  The company continues to grow each day, adding new dresses and new services to meet clients needs.  The company's aim is to help women of all ages feel confident and beautiful in each and every outfit that they wear.

Founder Emily McDonald

Emily McDonald, a USC grad, always had an intense love for fashion, that began at the age of 5 during her first visit to Saks Fifth Avenue.  This memory is burned into Emily's head, as she remembers being mesmerized by the designer dress section in particular.

After finishing her degree in Business Entrepreneurship, Emily went on to complete a post-graduate program in Merchandise Product Development from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles (FIDM).

Combining a love for fashion, business knowledge, and years of experience in the fashion industry with a range of contemporary brands, Emily discovered a unique market niche. Young women are constantly looking for new, trendy outfits to wear but can't afford to update their closets as often as they would like. After years of borrowing clothes from roommates and friends, and continually trying to put together the best outfit for each occasion, the idea for The Stylist LA was born.

Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Emily lives in Manhattan Beach, California. Her current obsessions include, soul cycle, rompers, a good glass of sauvignon blanc and The Stylist LA customers (really though.)  She is constantly searching for new, incredible brands and styles to bring to The Stylist LA.
