What if I need to cancel my order before it has shipped out?

If you need to cancel your order before it is shipped, please contact us. You MUST cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it to receive a refund. Since the dress that you order is reserved for you for your dates and can't be rented by anyone else, we cannot issue a refund for your order after 24 hours. However, we will issue you a full merchandise credit.  If you place the order in store, you will only receive a merchandise credit.  Full refunds within 24 hours are only available for online orders.

What is the TheStylist LA?

TheStylist LA is a womens high-end dress borrowing service that brings stylish clothing to women who wish to dress a certain way, but do not have the financial means to do so on a consistent basis.

How can I find dresses that are right for me?

You can start by using our search tool in the upper right hand of the page. You can search a brand you like, your size (S, M or L, 2, 4, 6 etc.) or your desired price point ($40, $50, or $75). or you can just browse through our collection. Or you can set up an appointment to view our collection in person and get the help of our personal stylists at either our Venice or San Francisco locations. What are the size ranges for the dresses?

The sizes range from extra small to large and zero to eight. We do not buy each dress in numerous sizes, since our goal is to give women unique options to wear. We dont want customers attending events in the same dresses! TheStylist LA picks dresses in certain sizes based on the cut and style of the dress and the body type that it would flatter most.

How much does it cost to borrow a dress?

Each dress is priced based on it's retail price, times borrowed and the designer. These prices range from $40-$100.

If I live in the Los Angeles area can I try the dresses on before I decide which one to rent?

Yes! We love to have clients come into our showroom in Venice and try on dress options. We ask that you make an appointment to come see us.  Our showroom is located at 3793 Wade St. Los Angeles CA 90066. Our San Francisco showroom is located in Cow Hollow/Marina at 1980 Union St. San Francisco, CA 94123.

How do I return the dress to TheStylist LA?

The item will be shipped back to TheStylist LA in a prepaid envelope that we give you at the time you receive the dress. 

What if the dress doesn't fit?

If the dress doesn't fit, is unworn and is return mailed within 24 hours, we will issue a full merchandise credit (less the cost of shipping).

How do I ensure that the dress fits?

1.  Check the Overview/Fit tab on the dress of your choice to get additional info on the sizing and fit of the garment.  You can also check out the review tabs to see what other customers are saying about this dress and how it fits!

2.  Email or call us and we will be more than happy to discuss the fit of the item with you!

If I like the dress can I purchase it? If so, for how much?

Some of the dresses can be purchased for a price determined by times borrowed, retail price etc.  Your payment for borrowing will be applied to the purchase of the item.  If you fall in love with the dress that you borrowed, contact us and we will let you know if that particular item is available for sale!

Do I need to put down a deposit for borrowing a dress?

Nope! We do keep your credit card number on file in case of damages, but no deposit is needed.

What if I damage the dress?

Upon return every dress will be checked for damages. If damages are present TheStylist LA will attempt to fix the dress.  If the damages can be fixed, the customer will be charged the cost of repairs (plus a 20% handling fee).  We hope that it never happens, but if the item is damaged beyond repair, or not returned, your credit card will be charged for the retail price of the dress.

How long can I borrow a dress?

The typical borrow time is five days.  The borrowing time can be extended at the time of purchase for $20 for an additional 5 days.  If the borrowing time has not been extended in advance a $20 late fee is charged for each day that the item is late.
